Huge shout out to Wedding venue owners Gemma and Rob Walpole and their gem of a venue Rookery Meadow on the Norfolk-Suffolk border.
Rookery Meadow is a true blank canvas venue with ancient oaks, lake and wildflower meadow beyond. It is totally immersed in nature yet easily accessible, it really does have so much to offer the DIY couple looking to have an outdoor wedding their way. Whether you fancy a marquee or tipi, food trucks or picnics, the choice really is yours at Rookery Meadow.
If couples need signposting then Gemma and Rob have a list of friendly suppliers to choose from too and very kindly introduced me to some lovely fellow Celebrants. Nice!
Additionally tucked away for your use is their Barn of Curiosities filled with vintage props, games and accessories and is free with venue hire. What an amazingly generous bonus! I know I’d be raiding it for a celebration for sure.
I really admire Gemma and Rob’s commitment to hosting a limited number of weddings per year so that nature can thrive and so that couples have time the day before and after their wedding to savour every moment without rush. If the natural environment is important to you then you can be assured that it is greatly respected and valued here.
I was over the moon to be contacted by a couple who had chosen Rookery Meadow for their 2022 wedding and am much looking forward to performing their ceremony for them.
I’m sharing their website but do check them out on Facebook and Instagram too. https://www.rookerymeadow.co.uk/weddings/
